The Benefits of Online Games

To conduct this review, we first compiled a list of available studies. We excluded 182 studies for various reasons, including the age of study participants, focus on IGD or addiction, or motivations and predictors of play, and being unable to find relevant primary research. From these, we derived a final narrative synthesis that included 18 studies. Read on to learn about the results and the next steps for researchers. Listed below are some of the important features of the reviewed studies.

Social aspects of multiplayer online gaming

One study found that multiplayer online games increase the amount of social interaction between users. In addition to face-to-face interactions, multiplayer communities may also keep in touch via email, IRC, and phone. Similar to face-toface interactions, social interaction between multiplayer communities is based on shared goals and values. For this reason, these games are characterized by social features that increase player interactions. Here are some of these aspects of multiplayer online gaming.

MMOs

An MMO is an online game that has millions of players. These games require large game worlds and servers to connect them. Some games have all servers connected together, while others have sharded worlds. Ultima Online, for example, uses the shards of the Mondain gem to connect its players. Regardless of the game’s size, there are numerous differences between an MMO and a traditional online game.

Browser-based games

In 2008, browser-based online game player time increased by 42 percent, according to the measurement service Comscore. This trend isn’t surprising; advertisers are increasingly attracted to these ad-supported games, which boost the profits of both the games and the publishers. In terms of player time, EA Games, Yahoo! Games, ป๊อกเด้งออนไลน์ and Runescape are leading the pack. But what makes browser games so appealing? Here are some benefits of browser games.

Among Us

Among Us in Online Games is a free-to-play multiplayer game. Players must survive as long as they can to keep themselves alive and avoid being captured or voted out by the other players. The game works on all devices, from mobile phones to consoles, and users can use the keyboard and mouse to move the characters. Touch devices can use a joystick, while PCs use buttons. It is also available on Nintendo Switch.

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite’s online multiplayer amplifies the strengths of the original series while incorporating the abilities of modern shooters. Not every new mechanic fits perfectly into Halo’s established formula, however. The ping system is too confusing and tieins with in-game progression become unrewarding grinds. Another complaint is that the game is so big that there are no regular updates for it.
